While Hilary was in the bathroom, I grabbed Nick.
"What are you trying to do?" I asked firmly.
"What are you talking about?" Nick replied calmly.
"Are you trying to flirt with me or something?!"
"I don't know what you are talking about."
"You know what I'm going through!"
"No... what?"
I slapped him.
"What was that for?!"
"For being an idiot! ...What happened to Mr. Sensitive?!"
"He's right here, babe."
I slapped him again.
"Never call me that ever again! Listen you, I-"
Suddenly, he kissed me hard.
I quickly pulled away and slapped him the hardest.
"NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!! WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU?! YOU TWO-TIMING JERK!!"
Then Hilary came out of the bathroom.
I stomped out of the theater madly and into my car.
I left them there with no ride.
I don't know why, but I cried hard the whole ride.
I headed towards my house.
No wait, I can't let everyone see me like this!
So I started towards the park.
It immediately started raining. Hard.
I stopped at the red light and put in a CD.
I played Getaway loudly, singing along as I cried.
Here I am again
Talking to myself
Sitting at a red light.
Both hands on the wheel,
How am I supposed to feel?
So much running through my mind.
First you wanna be free,
Now you say you need me,
Giving mixed signals and signs.
It's so hard to let you in,
Thinking you might slam the breaks again.
Put the pedal down,
Heading out of town,
Gotta make a Getaway!
The traffic in my brain
Is driving me insane,
This is more than I can take!
You tell me that you love me first,
Then throw your heart into reverse.
I got to Getaway!
I finally got to the park.
It was still raining hard.
I quickly got out of my car and ran.
I didn't care where I was going.
Mostly because my eyes were blurred from the constantly flowing tears.
I ran and ran across the wet and insanely large park.
I was half way across the park when I tripped over a root and scraped the bottom of my knee on a pointy rock.
The scrape was deep and the blood slowly dripped down my leg.
The searing pain was enough to make me scream.
I sat with my knees curled up to my chin.
I laid my head down on my knees.
Tears flowed down my cheek like gushing waterfalls.
At that moment, my life officially and totally was a load of crap.
I heard feet stepping along the wet grass towards me.
I kept my head down. I heard a voice.
"Sarah?"
The voice was familiar.
I looked up at the person.
My eyesight was still blurred, so I couldn't really tell who it was.
The only feature I could see was dark curly hair.
Oh great; not a Jonas!... please be Kevin!
"What are you doing sitting here in the pouring rain?"
I didn't answer. How could I?
What, with finding out my boyfriend was cheating on me, having Nick seriously confuse me, my knee flowing with blood, and life overall just plain sucking.
How could I do anything but sit there crying?
"Wow, what happened to your knee?!" Kevin asked nicely.
He looked over at the bloodstained rock and grass nearby.
"Oh... that must be where you... yeah."
He held out his hand.
I put my head back down.
"You know, sitting in the rain is only going to make it worse."
I put my head up again. He smiled.
I grabbed his hand and he helped me up.
My leg was weak from loss of blood.
Kevin looked around nervously.
He took off his scarf and wrapped it around the wound.
"Can you walk?" he asked.
I shook my head.
"Will I have to carry you?"
I closed my eyes and sighed.
Before I could respond, Kevin had lifted me into his arms.
He walked over to his car and put me in the passenger seat.
He drove me to an unknown place.
It wasn't in the direction of the nearest hospital, or our houses.
Where was he taking me?
"What are you trying to do?" I asked firmly.
"What are you talking about?" Nick replied calmly.
"Are you trying to flirt with me or something?!"
