Break My Heart - Chapter 13

Joe scooted closer to me.
"Sarah..."
"What?"
My eyes were open wide.
I chewed my gum faster.
"Sarah..."
"Um, what?"
He was silent for a minute.
He just stared into my eyes.
Then he broke the silence.
"I love you."
My eyes grew wider.
I swallowed hard, causing my throat to make a 'gulp' sound.
I swallowed my gum from the shock.
A strange feeling fell to the pit of my stomach.
My heart started beating faster.
Joe leaned in and kissed me quite passionately.
We pulled away after a minute or two.
We just stared into each other's eyes.
In my mind, I couldn't help but repeat the words, 'holy crap' over and over.
I just sat there awestruck.
"Joe... I... I... I gotta go!"
I ran out the door as fast as I could.
I ran and finally ended up at my friend, Keila's house.
My other friend, Gabi, was there, too.
"You... will... freak!" I yelled.
Keila and Gabi were playing the Wii.
"Just a sec!" Keila yelled as they finished up a game of Mario Kart.
"What is it?"
"It's about Joe!"
"Oh great, what did he do this time?"
"He... he said... and...and I... and ... holy freakin' crap!"
"I see. So... I'm guessing... good thing?"
"That's what I don't know. Normally it would be. But I just don't know."
"Okay. And what happened exactly?"
"Joe... said... meep!"
"Um... he said 'meep'?!"
"No, no, no. He said... three certain words..."
"You don't mean...?"
"Yes."
Keila and Gabi started screaming their heads off.
"Guys! Problem here!"
"How is this a problem?! Joe Jonas just told you he loves you!"
"Yeah, but... I'm not sure if I love him back!"
"How can you not? Think of all the awesome things about him!" Gabi chimed.
"Yes, but think of the bad things about him!" Keila argued.
"I think there are more good than bad."
"Yes but sometimes the bad things can overpower the good things no matter how many good things there are."
"Guys! I have a problem!"
"Sorry." They said in unison.
"I don't know what I should do, guys! I'm reluctant about everything!"
"I'm surprised you used reluctant properly in a sentence!" Gabi said.
"Hey!"
"Sorry. Just speakin' my mind, here."
"Well don't, unless your mind happens to wander to the current subject."
"Okay, Sarah, what do you think?" Keila asked.
"I don't know what I think! I want you to tell me what I think!"
"We can't do that, sorry."
"Well it would help an awful lot."
We were silent for a few minutes.
Then the silence was broken by the doorbell.
"I got it!" Keila walked to the door and opened it.
She gasped a little.
"Oh hi. Come in."
The person walked in and to my dismay (Actually, I wasn't sure if it was dismay or joy) it was Joe.
"Hello, ladies." He said sitting on the couch.
"Hey, Joe!" Gabi had a smile on her face.
I was silent the whole time.
"So, let's play some Wii!" Joe said.
I looked at Keila.
"Sorry, I forgot I invited him over." She whispered.
I sighed.
"Oh, I gotta go home, now. Bye, guys."
I hurried out of the big yellow house.
Now what am I supposed to do?

Break My Heart - Chapter 12

I stopped playing and pointed annoyingly pointed at the window across mine.
Joe turned to the girl next to him and said something.
She nodded and left.
Then Joe did some sort of spazzy dance all around the living room.
I couldn't help it.
I got up and went to his house.
I walked in without knocking and Joe was still dancing crazily.
I grabbed his shoulders and forced him to stop.
"Sarah! What a surprise!" he said.
"Shut up and tell me what the freakin' heck is going on!"
"Ah! So I got your attention!"
"Yeah. Why?"
"Well because you cannot resist me, love." he used a Jack Sparrow voice.
"Stop it, Joe!"
"No."
"Okay. Well? Why did you want me over here?"
"I told you. You already know."
"Well, what would happen if I didn't know?"
"Oh, well you'd have to figure it out on your own."
"Joe!"
"La la la la la la laaaaa!"
"Joe, I command you to tell me what you freakin' want!"
"I don't want to."
"Too freakin' bad!"
"I'm not going to tell you anything."
"Then why am I over here?"
"Because you're very curious."
"If you won't tell me anything, do you have anything to tell?"
"Sorta."
"Um, what does that mean?"
"It is an abbreviation for sort of."
I slapped his arm.
"Ow! What? You asked what-"
"That's not what I meant!"
"Okay, fine."
He sighed and sat on the couch, motioning me to sit with him.
"Sorta, meaning I want to show you. Because you won't do anything if I tell you."
"Um... huh?"
He turned to me without any facial expression whatsoever.
He looked me in the eyes.
I chewed the gum that was in my mouth.
What the fudge was going on?

Break My Heart - Chapter 11

I couldn't stop thinking about Joe for the next week.
I was lucky it was summer, because there would've been no possible way to get schoolwork done.
My family referred to me as the hermit.
I didn't leave my room except to pee, eat, shower, etc.
I played my guitar or just laid on my bed staring at the ceiling fan.
And during the whole time, I couldn't really concentrate on anything but Joe.
Even when the ceiling fan started to hypnotize me.
(Which happened often)
I realized that I kept walking away from my problems.
It was frustrating, and I had no doubts that Joe felt the same.
He and his brothers were going to be leaving in a week for a few months.
I had 7 days to decide whether or not I was to let myself fall.

I had also noticed that my sister, Marissa, had dyed her hair black and started wearing dark clothes and makeup.
She didn't talk. At all. She started using sign language!
Nobody could understand her.
My parents got really mad at her.
The only currently normal child was Hilary.
Who was, let's face it, blonde.
(Yes, both meanings.)

I looked out my window and into the one next door.
It was the Jonas' living room.
I knew nobody was home but Joe.
He was sitting on the couch with a glum face.
I bit my lip and sighed.
Then his head turned and his face lit up.
He got up and I saw someone enter the room.
It was a girl with blonde hair and covered in sequins.
Joe hugged and they sat on the couch together, snuggling.
I bottom eye lid twitched madly.
I quickly opened the window and stuck my head out.
I noticed his window was opened, too.
I quickly grabbed my electric guitar and placed the amp near the window.
I played a loud and angry rock song.
I kept my head down, away from the window.
I made a frustrated face.
I looked out the window through the corner of my eye.
I saw Joe and whatever (must I use harsh words?) was in his arms, look out the window.
Joe smirked.
Apparently, his plan (whatever that was) was working.

Break My Heart - Chapter 10

There's no way I could fall for him again!
Not after what he did to me.
At least... not yet. If ever.
"Um, Joe?" I asked.
"Yeah?"
"I think I want to go away now."
"Why?"
"Because. I just want to."
"But I want to you to stay."
"Well, too bad. I'm going now."
I picked up my guitar, strummed the strings mockingly and left.
I could feel Joe staring at me as I walked away.
I got into the backseat of my car and slid down so nobody could see me.
I grabbed my little parascope (Yes, I have a parascope. Don't you?) and looked out the window.
I saw Joe stare at my car with a half confused half amused look.
"It's like you don't know me at all, Joe!" I whispered to myself.
Then I saw him acting like a mime.
He was the most random mime ever, no lies.
I couldn't help but laugh almost all the way through, which, unfortunately made me jiggle my parascope, making it more noticeable.
I saw Joe do sort of an, "Aha!" motion as he pointed at my car.
I sighed and climbed onto the seat.
Joe gave me a, "Get over here!" look.
I got out of the car and walked over to him.
"What do you freakin' want?"
"I think you already know."
"What makes you think I'll come back, hm?"
"One word, love." Joe did a Jack Sparrow accent. "Curiosity."
"Stop it, Joe!"
"Aha, but why would I stop, love, I know your weakness!"
"Yeah, well, I know yours!"
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah. Your stuffed armadillo."
"How did you know about Bernie?!"
"So you admit it!"
"Oh!... You, little... person!"
I stuck out my tongue.
"I shall one day get you for this, love! Or, um.. now!"
My eyes widened and Joe chased me around the park.
I tripped and Joe got an evil smile.
I turned around, still on the ground. (Woah, I can rhyme!)
Joe got down on both knees and tickled me until I couldn't breathe.
"Joe!!" I screamed. "Stop!! No!!"
He finally stopped and I caught my breath as I stood up.
I couldn't breathe very well at all.
I ran to my car and grabbed the funny white plastic thing in the giant pocket.
I sucked into my inhaler and turned to Joe.
"What the heck is wrong with you?"
"There's nothing wrong with me."
"Uh, yeah, there is!"
"Name one."
"You're crazy, you keep talking like Jack Sparrow, you act like we're still together..."
"Woah! I said one."
"Too bad. Bye bye."
I turned around and sat in the driver's seat of my car.
This Joe-ller coaster was making me dizzy.
When would it end?

Break My Heart - Chapter 9

About a month passed and I hadn't talked to Joe since.
I didn't talk to anyone.
I just sat in my room all day every day playing my guitar.
I got out my electric guitar, now.
I sang a song I liked that fit this situation almost perfectly.

There were places we would at midnight
There were secrets that nobody else would know
There's a reason but I don't know why
I don't know why
I don't know why

Who's that girl?
Where's she from?
No, she can't be the one
That you want
That has stolen my world
It's not real, it's not right
It's my day, it's my night
By the way
Who's that girl living my life?
Oh no, living my life

I looked over at the stereo beside me and saw that it was recording.
And for some reason it wouldn't let me delete it.
Also, it had accidentally sent itself to Joe!
Oh no! Oh no! Oh no!
What's he gonna say?!
Oh well. I'll just drive to the park and possibly live there and become a hobo.
So I went to the park to play my guitar in real sunlight.
I got there and brought my guitar to my usual thinking spot.
I got my guitar ready and was about to play, when I heard someone else play a song on their guitar.
It sounded very close.
I just stayed still and listened.
He played it very well, and then started to sing:

In life nothings certain
You'll never know when it'll happen
Some burn out while some fade away
It doesn't matter we're heading that way

If I had the time
I'll spend it with you

Time gets you old and weary
Like a lifeless ordinary
Some burn out while some fade away
I don't want you to go
I want you to stay

If I could turn back the time
I'd spend it with you

I want you to know
Even though you're gone
That I'm drowning in tears

I wish you were here
And hear me say
Believe me, I'm sorry

Feels like everythings undone
Peace of mind still I haven't found
And time will heal those broken mends
I know it will come, but when will it end?

The person stopped and sighed.
It sounded like he was behind the tree I was sitting at.
I started to play and sing my song, too.
When I was done, I heard the person get up and come to where I was.
"Sarah?" He said.
You're surprised?
I looked up to see exactly who I thought it was.
"Hi."
"I forgot how well you sang."
"......Nice song."
"I...I wrote it for you."
"Thank you, Joseph, but I'm not ready to forgive you." I got up and started walking away.
"Sarah!" He gently grabbed my arm.
"Yes?" I wasn't angry. I wasn't happy, either. Just calm.
"I want you to know that me and Marissa are done."
"Wonderful." I said not so enthusiastically.
"How long do we continue not talking?" He said acting as Will Turner.
Dangit, he knew that was my favorite movie!
I couldn't resist and said, "As soon as we rescue Jack everything will be fine." I said it acting as Elizabeth.
I smiled a little.
"Then we rescue Jack!" He smiled hugely.
I looked away and tried not to smile.
"Ah! I got you to smile at last!"
"What do you want from me, Joe?" I was still smiling.
"Can't you guess?" He answered quietly, his smile fading.
He looked into my eyes.
I quickly looked down.
Could I be re-falling for him?

Break My Heart - Chapter 8

What is he doing here?!
The dude helped me up.
I kept my head down as I brushed myself off and walked away without confirming who it was.
"Wait!" He yelled and gently grabbed my arm.
Now I was angry. I knew who it was. I could tell.
"What do you want?!" I yelled as I quickly turned around.
"I need to talk to you." The dark, straight haired, 18 year old boy said.
"No."
I turned around and walked away.
He ran in front of me and got in my way.
"Move." I said very firmly.
"No."
"Move, Joe!"
"No!"
"MOVE!"
"No!"
I got really angry. I kicked him in the shin with my normal leg.
He backed away as he yelled, "Ow!" and I quickly went to find Kevin or Jeff.
I felt one of my eyes water. Oh great. I don't want unneeded sympathy.
I eventually found Jeff in the kitchen drinking a glass of water.
"Jeff, do you know why Joe is here?"
"Yeah, he came over to get something."
"Okay, well, if he asks where I am, tell him I'm dead."
"Why.."
I left before he could answer.
I opened the door and went into Kevin's car.
I locked it so only Kevin could get in.
He was the only one I trusted at the moment.
I laid my head on the back of the passenger seat and sighed.
It was still raining hard.
Then I started to quietly sing to myself.

Let's go back
Back to the beginning
Back to when the earth, the sun, the stars all aligned.
'Cause perfect doesn't feel so perfect
Trying o fit a square into a circle was no life
I defy

Let the rain fall down
And wake my dreams
Let it wash away
My sanity
'Cause I wanna feel the thunder
I wanna scream
Let the rain fall down
I'm coming clean

I sighed again and unlocked the car from the inside.
I got out and went back to the house.
As I was about to open the door, it opened.
Well, somebody opened it.
And that somebody happened to be Joe.
He was a bit surprised at first.
He stepped out of the doorway and closed the door.
"Sarah, listen. I-"
"Save it."
I tried to move around him. He moved and stayed in front of me.
"Joseph, I am not in the mood right now." I said flatly.
"Well, get in the mood!"
"What if I don't want to?"
"Do it anyway."
"No, I don't think I will."
I tried to get around him again, but he stopped me. Again.
"JOE!!!" I yelled angrily. "If you think I will ever forgive you for-"
I was interrupted.
Joe kissed me!
How could he kiss me in this situation.
It did feel very nice, though...
What am I saying?!
Surprisingly, I didn't pull away for a few seconds.
When I pulled away he smiled at me and I started to melt.
I quickly snapped out of it, though and slapped him.
"Ow!"
I turned around and tried to go to... well, anywhere but there!
Surprisingly, Joe just stood there, rubbing his cheek.
Just then, a familiar boy came out of the large house next door.
He walked up to me.
"Sarah?"
"Luke?"
It was my old friend Luke!
"I'm so happy you're here!" I exclaimed.
"I feel the same."
I looked over at Joe and he looked a bit angry.
"Listen, Luke, can you do me a favor?"
"Anything."
"Good. Kiss me."
"What?!"
"Just do it!"
"Okay..?"
So he kissed me for about ten seconds then pulled away.
"Why did-"
"Shh. Just smile."
"Okay." So he smiled.
I looked over at Joe again he was coming over to where we were.
"Quick, hold my hand." I grabbed his hand.
"Why-"
"Shh!"
Joe came over with his arms crossed.
I did my best acting.
"Joe, have you met my boyfriend, Luke?"
"What?!" Luke sorta yelled. I elbowed him.
"Oh. Yeah! Mhmm." His fingers entwined with mine.
"No, I'm afraid I haven't." Joe said crossly.
"Luke Wendelson, here, is my boyfriend." I faked a smile.
"I see. And might I ask how long you two have been dating?" he said in a harsh tone.
"Oh, only as long as you have been dating Marissa." I smirked.
Joe's eyes widened.
In my head I was taunting at him.
Ha, ha, ha, haa, haaa!
His eyes then turned to Luke and glared.
Luke grinned.
Joe turned around and went into the house.
Now how long do I avoid talking to him?

Break My Heart - Chapter 7

As we walked out the door, I noticed something.
"Where's Hilary?" I asked.
We all looked around. No Hilary.
"Hilary! Hilary!" We all yelled.
Then I noticed that Nick was suddenly gone.
"Hey, where'd Nick go?" Kevin asked.
"Okay, what the fudge is going on?" I yelled.
"Well, I guess we'll have to look around the house.." Said Jeff.
So we searched the house.
I decided to look in the rooms over on the right side of the house.
I looked in a blue room. Nothing.
I looked in the orange room. Nothing.
I looked in the green room. Nothing.
I looked in the red room. Not- hey!
I saw Nick and Hilary sitting on a big bed, making out.
"Get a room!!" I yelled as they pulled away. "Oh wait... I guess you did... well.. hm..."
They looked at me weird. I shook my head.
"This is not the time and place for this! Ha! I found the right words!"
Nick walked up to me and pointed at something behind me.
"What... is... that?!" He stammered, as if Dracula was about to bite me.
I quickly turned around.
SLAM!
He slammed the door on me!
I tried to open it, but he locked it.
"Grr... KEVIN!!"
Kevin came running to me.
"What's wrong?"
"I found them. They're in there makin' out. They locked the door."
"What?" He knocked on the door. No answer.
He looked at me. He pulled a key from his pocket and unlocked the door.
He opened it. Nobody there.
He looked at me strangely.
"Where'd they go?!" I was surprised.
"Are you sure they were in here?"
"Yes! I saw them! I talked to them! They were here!"
Kevin looked confused.
He looked under the bed and in the closet. No one.
I went to the window.
It was open and a rope of sheets were hanging down from it.
"Um, Kevin... come look at this."
He came over and looked out the window.
"They wouldn't...."
"Apparently, they would."
"But why?"
"Who the heck knows?!"
He ran out of the room.
I followed as fast as I could without falling over my crutch.
"Uh, wait for me...!(?)"
I couldn't catch up to him and fell flat on my face.
"Um... ow."
I heard footsteps from behind me.
"Sarah, you okay?"
Hey, that wasn't Kevin's voice.
Not Jeff's either.
And it wasn't Nick or Hilary.
Yet I was all too familiar with the voice.
Oh, crap. Not him. Not now.

Break My Heart - Chapter 6

I sat in Kevin's car, still crying, Kevin's scarf still on my knee, heading to who knows where.
What I didn't notice, however, was that Nick and Hilary were in the back seat.
I did notice when Nick poked my shoulder.
I reacted by screaming, which caused Kevin to swerve a little in surprise on the highway.
"Holy crap, Nick, what's your problem?!"
I held my hand where my heart was beating and closed my eyes.
"Sorry... I just wanted to know why you-" I interrupted him.
"What are you doing in Kevin's car anyway? I thought I ditched you two" I said flatly.
"Well, after you drove off, I called Kevin to pick us up. We went home and you weren't there, so we were worried. We went to look for you. Hilary suggested the park, which is, she said, where you like to vent, so we came here and you know the rest."
"Okay..." I sniffed hard.
I slowly removed the scarf and looked at the wound underneath.
I shut my eyes tightly as I put the scarf back.
It stung so bad.
"Where are we going?" I choked out.
"We're going to see a friend of mine. He knows how to treat things like this and will do it for free if I ask." Kevin answered.
We arrived at a huge house.
Kevin walked around the car, opened the door, and picked me up again.
He carried me to the door as Nick ran in front of him, unlocked the door and opened it.
Kevin laid me on a large fuzzy couch.
"Wait here." He walked away and I heard voices talking.
A guy about Kevin's age walked up to me and removed Kevin's scarf.
"Wow..." he said. "I'll need two cloths, wet them both, ring out only one. And a large bandage with that tape-like stuff. It's in the bathroom in the middle right cabinet. Oh, and a bag of ice to slow the swelling."
Nick and Kevin walked away.
"Hello, Sarah. My name is Jeff. I'm Kevin's friend. I'm going to fix you up here."
I just stared around awkwardly, laying on the couch stiffly.
Nick and Kevin came back with the items asked for.
Jeff took the dry cloth and sopped up the wet blood.
Then he took the wet cloth and cleaned the dried blood off my leg.
Then he wrapped a huge bandage over my wound and stuck it there with sticky paper-ish stuff.
He then put the bag of ice over the bandage.
I swallowed and said, "Thanks, Jeff."
"No problem. That'll take a while to heal, and there will be a bruise for a while after it heals. Get up and try to stand."
I did as he said and almost fell over.
Nick caught me. He felt warm and comforting to me again.
He smiled and helped me back on the couch (sitting up).
"What do I do if I can't walk? Kevin can't carry me all the time."
"Right. Um, I think I have a spare crutch around here somewhere..."
He left in search of a crutch.
He came back with a crutch.
He gave it to me and said, "Try to walk now."
I stood up and walked around the room with the crutch.
"Alright." he clapped. "You can keep it until you can walk again."
I smiled. Then I remembered something.
"Oh crap! My car! I can't just leave it at the park... and there's no way I can drive it..."
"Jeff, can you come along and drive Sarah's car back with us?" Kevin asked.
"Sure, why not?"
I smiled again. This guy was very kind. So was Kevin.
But what do I do about Nick?
And especially Joe.

Break My Heart - Chapter 5

While Hilary was in the bathroom, I grabbed Nick.
"What are you trying to do?" I asked firmly.
"What are you talking about?" Nick replied calmly.
"Are you trying to flirt with me or something?!"
"I don't know what you are talking about."
"You know what I'm going through!"
"No... what?"
I slapped him.
"What was that for?!"
"For being an idiot! ...What happened to Mr. Sensitive?!"
"He's right here, babe."
I slapped him again.
"Never call me that ever again! Listen you, I-"
Suddenly, he kissed me hard.
I quickly pulled away and slapped him the hardest.
"NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!! WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU?! YOU TWO-TIMING JERK!!"
Then Hilary came out of the bathroom.
I stomped out of the theater madly and into my car.
I left them there with no ride.
I don't know why, but I cried hard the whole ride.
I headed towards my house.
No wait, I can't let everyone see me like this!
So I started towards the park.
It immediately started raining. Hard.
I stopped at the red light and put in a CD.
I played Getaway loudly, singing along as I cried.

Here I am again
Talking to myself
Sitting at a red light.
Both hands on the wheel,
How am I supposed to feel?
So much running through my mind.

First you wanna be free,
Now you say you need me,
Giving mixed signals and signs.
It's so hard to let you in,
Thinking you might slam the breaks again.

Put the pedal down,
Heading out of town,
Gotta make a Getaway!
The traffic in my brain
Is driving me insane,
This is more than I can take!
You tell me that you love me first,
Then throw your heart into reverse.
I got to Getaway!

I finally got to the park.
It was still raining hard.
I quickly got out of my car and ran.
I didn't care where I was going.
Mostly because my eyes were blurred from the constantly flowing tears.
I ran and ran across the wet and insanely large park.
I was half way across the park when I tripped over a root and scraped the bottom of my knee on a pointy rock.
The scrape was deep and the blood slowly dripped down my leg.
The searing pain was enough to make me scream.
I sat with my knees curled up to my chin.
I laid my head down on my knees.
Tears flowed down my cheek like gushing waterfalls.
At that moment, my life officially and totally was a load of crap.
I heard feet stepping along the wet grass towards me.
I kept my head down. I heard a voice.
"Sarah?"
The voice was familiar.
I looked up at the person.
My eyesight was still blurred, so I couldn't really tell who it was.
The only feature I could see was dark curly hair.
Oh great; not a Jonas!... please be Kevin!
"What are you doing sitting here in the pouring rain?"
I didn't answer. How could I?
What, with finding out my boyfriend was cheating on me, having Nick seriously confuse me, my knee flowing with blood, and life overall just plain sucking.
How could I do anything but sit there crying?
"Wow, what happened to your knee?!" Kevin asked nicely.
He looked over at the bloodstained rock and grass nearby.
"Oh... that must be where you... yeah."
He held out his hand.
I put my head back down.
"You know, sitting in the rain is only going to make it worse."
I put my head up again. He smiled.
I grabbed his hand and he helped me up.
My leg was weak from loss of blood.
Kevin looked around nervously.
He took off his scarf and wrapped it around the wound.
"Can you walk?" he asked.
I shook my head.
"Will I have to carry you?"
I closed my eyes and sighed.
Before I could respond, Kevin had lifted me into his arms.
He walked over to his car and put me in the passenger seat.
He drove me to an unknown place.
It wasn't in the direction of the nearest hospital, or our houses.
Where was he taking me?

Break My Heart - Chapter 4

~~~
I sat in the chair in my room crying silently for hours.
I heard a knock on my door.
"Go away!" I yelled.
"Sarah? Please let me in."
I got up and opened the door.
"What do you want, Nick?" I sat back down.
"I came to see if you were alright."
"I'm fine."
"It doesn't look like that to me."
I was silent for a minute.
"How long have you known about them?" I asked
"A few days after they started..."
"How long have they been together?"
"A couple of months."
"How could he do this?!"
"I don't know..."
"Why didn't he just tell me?!"
"I don't know..."
"What the heck could he see in Marissa?!"
"I don't know..."
"I don't know! I don't know! Is that all you have to say?!"
"Sorry."
I ran up to him and hugged him tightly, crying into his shoulder.
He held me in his arms.
It felt good.
"It's alright, Sarah. Joe's a jerk for that. He was lucky to have you."
I let go. Our eyes locked, and Nick wiped my tears.
I turned, my head.
"Well... y-you should go..."
"Yeah. Okay. See you later?"
I nodded. He left and I laid down on my bed and sighed.
I couldn't possibly be falling for him, could I?
No. No way. Not in this life time.
~
The next day, Me, Hilary and Nick went to the movies.
Nick sat in between me and Hilary.
He tried the yawn-stretch maneuver.
This would've been normal if he'd tried it on Hilary.
But instead, he did it to ME!
I removed his arm from my shoulder.
"What are you doing?" I whispered.
"Nothing."
Then he grabbed my hand and tried to hold it.
I yanked it away and slapped his hand.
"Stop flirting with me!" I whispered very quietly so Hilary wouldn't hear.
Nick said nothing.
When the movie was over, we went into the theater lobby and waited while Hilary went to pee.
Break My Heart - Chapter 3
~~~

~~One Week Later~~

At that point, Joe was spending less and less time with me.
And when he did spend time with me, he didn't pay much attention to me at all.
I began to wonder if I did something wrong.
But one night, as I was flipping channels, I saw Joe on CelebGossip.
The lady said, "You all know him, Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers. This time, let me get straight to the point. Our sources have discovered that Joseph Adam Jonas is dating! That's right, girls, the hunky rock star is no longer single. Who is this lucky girl, and how long have they been dating? Her name is..." I started to glow. "Marissa Donzik!"
My heart sank as my jaw dropped and my eyes widened. Marissa?! With Joe?! My boyfriend?! No way!
I couldn't believe it. It must be a rumor. Then I saw it. A video of my sister and my boyfriend, at the mall, holding hands, laughing, then kissing.
I felt myself heat up rapidly.
I looked out the window to the room where Joe was watching TV.
I saw his eyes widen and yell "Crap!" so loud I could hear him from my house.
I saw him leave the room with a weird face.
I felt a tear roll down my cheek.
I heated up again and stormed up to my room.
I tore down all my pictures of Joe and took them down to the living room.
There, I slowly, one by one, put them into the burning fireplace.
I did my best to hold back tears. (Luckily, I'm kinda good at it.)
How could he do this to me?!

Break My Heart - Chapter 2

~~~
We walked out the door and sat in my car.
"Crap!" I yelled.
"What?" Joe asked.
"I forgot my keys, be right back..." I got up and out of the car and ran inside to grab my keys, then ran back in and started the car.
"So, how did you get here?" I asked Joe.
"I walked."
"Seriously?"
"No. I called a cab. It really sucks not having a license. Especially when your girlfriend who's two years younger than you is driving you around." He pulled his hood over his head. I just laughed.
We got home from the movie theater just in time for my family to get home.
The door opened and my 14 year old sister, Hilary stepped in.
"Hey, Sarah, we got you some of th-" She stopped talking. Her eyes widened.
"Joe?!"
"Hey, Hilary."
"What are you doing here?' She hugged him.
"Just hanging out."
"Where's Nick and Kevin?"
"Still in Florida."
"What?"
"I wanted to leave early."
"I see..."
Just then, my other sister, Malissa, who was almost 19, stepped in.
"Sarah, do you think I could-" She did the same as Hilary. Must I explain it again? The same with my parents. We just hung out all day.
~~Two Days Later~~
Nick and Kevin (and the others) came home to &%*$@# that day.
We all hung out at the mall. (Meaning, me, Hilary, Malissa, Kevin, Nick and Joe)
Everyone was acting weird, though.
I noticed Hilary and Nick kept looking at each other strangely.
And Kevin was unusually quiet.
Malissa wasn't really acting herself, either.
Kevin and Malissa didn't look at each other more than twice the entire time.
Joe didn't pay hardly any attention to me.
Nick was also acting a bit strange.
And Hilary was extremely giggly.
And I pretended that I didn't notice everyone acting weird.
That was confusing.
Break My Heart - Chapter 1
Chapter One
~~~

"...You're Mad! Thank Goodness For That, Because If I Wasn't, This'd Probably Never Work!..."
The ringtone on my cell phone rang out.
"Yellow..." I greeted my signature greeting.
"Hey!" Yelled the voice on the other line.
"Who is this?" I asked curiously.
"You don't recognize me?" the voice laughed.
"No, not really..."
"It's Joe."
My eyes widened and my mouth opened excitedly.
"Joe!" I yelled. "What's up?!"
"Nothing much, I just-" He was interrupted by the doorbell.
"Was that the doorbell at your house?" He asked me.
"Yeah.." I said as I walked to the door.
"Well, answer it!" He yelled. I opened the door to a familiar face.
Joe was at the door with his phone on his ear.
I hung up and threw my phone on the couch as I ran to him.
"Joe!!" I screamed as I ran to hug him.
"Heyyy, Sarah!" He said, smiling as he returned the hug.
"What are you doing here?!" I let go of him. "I thought you were in Florida!"
"Caught an early flight, babe!" He gave me a short kiss.
"Come in, Joe." We walked inside and sat on the couch.
"This couch is lumpier than I remember..." Joe said. Then he pulled my cell phone from under him. I laughed as I took it.
"So, where is everybody?" Joe asked.
"Shopping."
"You didn't come?"
"Nah, I wanted to sleep."
"When did they leave?"
"Nine o' clock. They'll be back at two thirty, which gives us two and a half hours."
Joe gave me a dirty look.
"Don't even think about, Joseph!" I smiled.
"Movie then?" He asked. I nodded as we got up and out the door.

~~~
P.S. The ringtone is from Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. It plays Lord Beckett saying, "You're Mad!" and Jack Sparrow saying, "Thank goodness for that, because if I weren't, this'd probably never work."
Yes, I actually use this ringtone, and it plays the conversation until I answer. xD
Break My Heart - Introduction
Break My Heart
~~~
Hi.
My name's Sarah Anna Maria Charlotte Priscilla Donzik.
You can call me Sarah.
I'm 16 years old.
I live in %#*&@# California.
Oh, and did I mention I live next door to the Jonas Brothers?
They moved here a few years ago.
I, on the other hand, have lived here all my live.
Never lived in another house.
Anyway, me and the Jonas Brothers have gotten really close over the years.
But lately I haven't been seeing them that much.
They keep getting busier and busier each day.
But they make sure to make time for me at least one day each month. =D
Whether it's just a phone call, I appreciate it.
Oh, did I also mention I'm dating Joe Jonas?
Or, at least, I was.
Here's my story.
